Psalms 145:8 (HCSB)
The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and great in faithful love.
What does it mean to be compassionate? I looked up the original Hebrew word used here and it’s just amazing. It means to be merciful and also to feel someones pain.
Friend, God isn’t just merciful for the wrong things you’ve done, he actually feels how you feel when you fall. The reason why some religious people are so unwilling to forgive people, is because they don’t FEEL the pain we feel when we fall.
When you fornicate and feel bad about it, God also FEELS that pain. I believe you’re understanding me. He actually feels the weight of your guilt. He doesn’t feel guilty, neither should you, but he feels the pain you feel at that very moment…and is willing to carry that burden from you if you let him.
