“FAITH IS NOW”

Heb 11:1 (KJV)
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. “

We can talk on the subject of faith the whole year! But let me finish the series today by the same verse we began with.

NOW faith is – faith operates in the NOW!

I’ve heard people saying, “let’s hope and pray…” That’s wrong, especially when you’re serious about getting results! Faith is not hope.

Mark 11:24 (KJV)
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

The word doesn’t tell us to hope when we pray, it tells us to BELIEVE!

Faith is for NOW! Use faith to receive from God. Believe that you have it when you pray! Hope has its place, but it isn’t for receiving! Faith receives!

“THE BLESSED LIFE”

John 20:26-28 (NKJV)
“…Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Today’s scripture reference is quite long but we need to read all of it to get something very special.

Thomas was told by the disciples that they had seen Jesus, but his response was;

 “UNLESS I SEE in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” –Vs 25

Wow! The Thomas kind of faith only believes after seeing. Is this faith?? NO! Faith is evidence of the UNSEEN. Then as we have read in the scripture above, Jesus came to the disciples specifically for Thomas; who had not believed their report. (Jesus cares about us individually, he doesn’t cast out them that have little faith, he comes down to their point)

After Thomas saw the hands of Jesus and felt his pierced side, he believed (vs. 28). But this didn’t impress Jesus! He went ahead and said;

Vs 29>> Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

“THE EVIDENCE”

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is such a fundamental thing in the life of a Christian. For the
next few days, we will dig deeper into this topic.

What is faith? We are told that it is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped
for and the EVIDENCE of things not seen.

WAIT A MINUTE! It isn’t the evidence of things that don’t exist; it is
the evidence of things NOT SEEN! WOW. For a long time, people have been using faith to get stuff, that’s a lesser truth!

We shouldn’t use faith to get stuff, faith is THE STUFF! Are you
