“SERVING UNDER ZERO PRESSURE”

John 10:11

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

Jesus is saying just how much he cares about you. He says that he is the GOOD shepherd that lays down his life for his sheep.  Friend, between the sheep and the shepherd, who is more valuable alive? Is there any good reason to die in order to save one sheep? Really???

It doesn’t attract tourists, doesn’t carry stuff…sheep are not really worth fighting for! Why is the good shepherd ready to die for just one sheep?!?! LOVE.

You have nothing much worth DYING for. You are not that smart, you make mistakes everyday, doubt God, forsake him…only LOVE can make a shepherd die saving a sheep!

Jesus loves you. He is not interested on whether you can catch thieves like a German shepherd dog, plough the field like strong bulls, carry loads like the donkey…he knows you are a sheep and likes you that way.

“SO MUCH LOVED”

John 3:16

“For God so Loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Do you know that God doesn’t just love u…he SO loves u!  When he lost you to sin, he decided to give his best to get u! God could have abandoned us and went to create another human race in another planet, but he chose to stick to us.  We disobeyed, blasphemed, lived perversely and even mocked God, but he chose to stick.

Jesus wasn’t killed at the cross, he gave up his life. He had the power to end the life of everyone against him! Remember when they went to pick him with Judas?

The bible records that his words made them fall on the ground! (John 18:6)

When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

IN TOUCH WITH YOU

Hebrews 4:14-16 (The Message Bible)

Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.

God is everywhere. He sees everything. He knows everything. He knows when we were born. He knows where you’ll be tomorrow. He knows your actions, your thoughts and even your words, even before you utter them. He knows that evil thought you just had toward that friend. He knows you slept with that married man yesterday. He knows that you murdered. He knows everything.

Does that scare you, it shouldn’t. Here’s why.

King David understood this fact that he wrote in Psalms 139: 1-4

O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do];
You understand my thought from afar.
You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And You are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken],
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.

God knows us inside and out. Unfortunately for most of us, we take this fact and run away from God. We think that now that He knows, He is out to get us. We think that He is out to fight us and shame us.
